Professional profile

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with couples and individuals wanting to improve the quality of their relationships.

Couples may come for therapy wanting greater emotional and sexual intimacy, or because they’re having the same old arguments that leave them feeling isolated and stuck. They may be struggling with parenting issues, facing the life-stage changes of children leaving home, or dealing with the aftermath of an affair. They may be planning to separate and want help in managing theirelationship going forward, particularly if parents.

Individuals might be wanting to work through the difficulties and loss of a previous relationship with the hope of creating more meaningful connections ahead.

I offer a calm, reflective space for feelings and anxieties to be expressed, acknowledged and better understood.  I work psychodynamically, meaning consideration is given and links are explored between what is happening in the present to what has been experienced and modelled to us in the past.  It is through the development of greater self-awareness that we are more free to make better choices going forward and thereby enable positive change.

I work with clients from a diverse range of ages and life-stages, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, gay and heterosexual.

Training and qualifications

I trained and qualified at Tavistock Relationships, London where I am a Visiting Clinician and Assessor. I am professionally affiliated to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)

I am a Trainer and Supervisor for the IAPT Couple Therapy for Depression and hold a certificate from The Foundation for Infant Loss.

Fees are for weekly sessions (50 minutes) short or longer term as agreed upon following an initial consultation.

Individual sessions - £100

Couple Sessions - £120

I am currently accepting new clients both in-person and online .

Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual therapy is an integrative approach which combines talking therapy with behavioural therapy. It can take place on an individual basis or with a partner. It will involve an assessment of the sexual issue (including any associated medical factors) whilst exploring further how the relationship, sexual development and personal history may be affecting the sexual issue. Behavioural exercises may be discussed in the sessions, which will then be carried out at home to help the individual or couple address their sexual difficulties.

East London Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling is a joint process between a therapist and client. Common goals of therapy may be to motivate change or improve quality of life. Therapy can help people overcome obstacles to emotional and mental well-being.

It can also increase positive feelings, such as compassion and self-esteem. People in therapy can learn healthy skills for managing difficult situations, making positive decisions, and reaching goals.
