Professional Profile:
I offer a warm, engaging and proactive style of therapy, with extensive experience in NHS mental health teams and independent practice. Holding a balance between making sense of problems and finding new ways to cope, I have successfully helped clients from a diverse set of backgrounds with many kinds of issues.
I specialise in individual work using Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Taken together these versatile therapies offer helpful ways of understanding and overcoming many kinds of problem, offering powerful techniques for change both in and out of the therapy room. I am also trained in Interpersonal Therapy and Mindfulness for depression.
As a clinician and supervisor within the NHS for many years I have expertise in treating emotional problems such as depression and anxiety and the deeper issues which can underlie these, such as poor self-esteem, issues with body image, eating disorders, perfectionism, trauma and interpersonal problems.
Your needs are always at the centre of my practice and I endeavour to adapt our work to meet them, inviting regular feedback about how our time can be made to count for the changes you want to make.
I offer a free consultation by phone to discuss if I am best placed to help you move forwards.
